Field Trip Help!

Kindergarten Field Trip

Dear Parents,

The Kindergarten classes would like to take a field trip to Country Critters. Our amazing PTA will has budgeted $9.00 for each child at GFAA for a field trip. However, the increased cost of transportation makes it difficult, if not impossible, to choose a field trip.  In order to make this awesome opportunity a reality for our students, we NEED YOUR HELP. 

Our PTA will be accepting parent donations to help with transportation costs for our field trips.   If you are interested, please complete the form below and send your donation to your child’s teacher.  All donations will be forwarded to the PTA.

Dr. Seuss Week                

March 5-March 9th

Kindergarten will be celebrating Dr. Seuss’s birthday next week.  Our week will be filled with some engaging learning opportunities utilizing Dr. Seuss’ stories.  PLEASE FOLLOW THE SCHEDULE BELOW SO YOUR CHILD WILL FEEL INCLUDED IN THE ACTIVITIES!!

Monday: Cat in the Hat Day.  We will be making cat in the hat hats in class!! Wear Black and white clothes!

Tuesday:  Green Eggs and Ham day.  Please wear GREEN!!!  Wear as much green as you can from head to toe!!

Wednesday:  Wacky Wednesday  Please have your child dress up in wacky clothes.  Examples are clothes that don’t match, crazy colors, anything that looks “wacky”.

Thursday:  Fox in Socks Day.  Please wear SILLY SOCKS!!  The socks can be short/tall, different color patterns, or whatever you decide is SILLY!!

Friday:  NO DR.SUESS DRESS-UP---- dress like a FARMER!

The GFAA All-Star Carnival is Coming!

This Saturday, March 3, from 11:00am - 3:00pm, come join the fun! It is a community event, so bring your friends. There will be games, prizes, inflatables, food, All-Star Idol Talent Show and more!

Pre-Sale tickets are available for a discounted price February 27 - March 2!

Advance Prices: Tickets are 5 for $1.00 (20% discount) All Day Wristbands* are $15.00 (25% discount)
*NOT for concessions - ONE time in the cash cube - ONE time at face painting - FIVE jail warrants - Non-Transferable.

Carnival Day Prices: Tickets are 4 for $1.00 and All Day Wristbands are $20.00.

GFAA Carnival!!!

March 3rd will be our anuual carnival and kndergarten needs your help this Saturday!  If you can volunteer on Saturday, please let us know.  Even if it is only for an hour, we could use the help!!  This is a huge fundraiser for GFAA and we want it to be a success!! 

Tickets are now being sold if you want to get your tickets early!

The carnival is always great fun and we hope to see you there!!

Sesame Street Live : Elmo Makes Music Tickets

Mark your calendar for this once-in-a-lifetime event--monsters becoming musicians! Elmo, The Count, Cookie Monster, Big Bird, Bert & Ernie and all their funny and furry friends are taking to the stage to share the magical world of music with children. When Jenny, the new Sesame Street music teacher, moves into town, her instruments get lost. Jenny's new Sesame Street friends quickly come to her rescue, and they all discover "instruments" that they never knew existed...rubber duckies, trash can lids and even their own laps! The characters teach children, and themselves, that everyone has the ability to make beautiful music, whether they realize it or not. 3D shapes!

Next week we will be working with 3D shapes; prisms, spheres, cones, cubes and cylinders.  If your child has a 3D object that will fit in their hand, please send it to school with your child on Monday.  We will be doing activities with the shapes and will send them back when we are finished!

Valentine Fun

GFAA Kindergarten celebrated Valentine's Day today. 

We wore lots of red and hearts. 

 

We made Clifford the Big Red Dog using only hearts. 

We decorated a box at home with our family. 

Then we passed out our Valentines into each uniquely decorated box.

FINALLY, we had a party with LOTS of yummy treats. 

It was so much fun opening and reading our 

Valentines from each of our friends.

Get the first GFAA yearbook!!! Order forms were sent home this week!!

Orders placed from February 8-17^th receive the GFAA yearbook for $16, plus any options you want to choose.  Any order placed after February 17^th will be $20, plus options.  Orders can be placed online at www.schoolannual.com, cash or check, made out to GFAA with driver’s license # and phone #.

February Family Projects

A quick reminder about the February family projects.  The students are to decorate their own Valentine boxes and bring them to school on February 14th.  Remember to leave an opening for others to place their Valentine Cards in!

Also, when sending Valentines to school, only put your child's name on them (ie.. From: your child)

The projects so far have been VERY creative and we can't wait to see what wonderful creations will come to school on Valentine's day!

Early Release Day

The District will have an early release day for elementary schools only on Wednesday, February 15, to accommodate staff development.  Elementary children will be released at 12:30 pm.  Pick up will be as normal in the back.

Valentine Fun

Valentine Fun!

Students will be making a Valentine for a friend at school. It will be lots of fun to mail this valentine to our friend using the United States Postal Service. Please send a self-addressed STAMPED envelope to school. If your child does not send an envelope to school, they will not receive one in the mail.

GFAA Kindergarten

100th Day of School

The Kindergartners started the 100th Day of School 

by dressing up like a 100 year old man or woman. 

They make the cutest OLD PEOPLE.

Then we read books about the 100th day of school. 

We counted to 100. We shared our 100 collection. 

We made hats and had a fun snack. Overall it was a DELIGHTFUL day.
